David Stitzel joined IPISC in 2020 as the Director of Intellectual Property Insurance Solutions. David had private practice experience at one of the world’s most renowned patent law firms and was a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). David prepared, prosecuted, and examined patent applications drawn to a broad array of technologies within the chemical, pharma, biotech, and mechanical disciplines. David also conducted prior art searches and rendered patentability, infringement, validity, and freedom-to-operate analyses. Past experiences also include IP Solutions Consultant for LexisNexis “PatentOptimizer, ® research chemist at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, and a research molecular geneticist at Duke University Medical Center. David is registered to practice before the USPTO, licensed to practice law within the states of North Carolina and Pennsylvania, and has his property and casualty insurance license. David holds a B.S. and a M.S. in Chemistry from Wright State University, and a J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law. David is also a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) and the Big I Kentucky division of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America.
